MEET OUR MAKERS

Thanks to artists like these, we’re bringing you adventure-ready products with the utmost quality and craftsmanship.

Orchard Forge

A dependable, all-purpose knife is one of the most important tools to have by your side out in the wild. So we commissioned Warren Wall, (AKA Orchard Forge Company) to produce a limited run of hand-forged Damascus steel knives. It takes him several days to make just one knife. That includes melting down the high-carbon steel, meticulously pounding all 94 layers into exacting submission and hand-shaping each handle out of carefully chosen American black walnut wood. Not only are his knives perfectly crafted for their intended use, they’re also bespoke works of art made to be passed from one generation to the next.

Dark Water Classic

We took our time finding an artisan who approaches leatherwork with a reverence for traditions hundreds of years in the making. Our search ended when we stumbled upon Eric Ahlgrim and Dark Water Classic. Eric handcrafts every piece by himself. He cuts, assembles, punches, stitches, sands, bevels, burnishes and brands it all with his own two hands. Thanks to Dark Water Classic, our leather goods are rugged yet elegant, and made with the highest-quality American leather. They’re gorgeous out of the gate, but will also patina beautifully over time.

TH&R Collective

Scent is a powerful trigger. It can transport us to another place and time, while thoroughly enhancing the present moment. We love the way TH and R Collective’s small-batch, hand-poured candles conjure up all sorts of enchanting scenes. This husband-and-wife team of Dale and Maureen Rehberg use only soy wax since it comes from vegetables rather than the petroleum used in standard paraffin wax. Soy wax is natural, renewable, biodegradable and creates no harmful petro-soot. It also has a lower melting point than paraffin, which allows for a longer burn. And you’ll definitely want to keep these beauties burning.

One Feather Press

We searched far and wide for a bandana that’s more than just a glorified rag. We finally found it from Thomas Petillo of One Feather Press. He creates custom, small-batch bandanas from the highest quality cotton on shuttle looms with a closed selvedge—washing, cutting, sewing and printing each one by hand in an old shed in East Nashville, Tennessee. Thomas believes a bandana should be a handmade piece of art that fits in your pocket. We couldn’t agree more.
